Endodontics is the treatment of root canals, this corresponds to all therapy that is practiced in the dentine-pulp complex of a tooth.

Endodontic therapy consists of partial removal (pulpotomies in primary teeth) or total removal of the dental pulp (nerve-artery-vein).

It is applied to fractured teeth, with deep cavities or lesions in the pulp tissue in which there are characteristic symptoms of irreversible pulpitis and the only therapeutic option is the total removal of the dental pulp, and three-dimensional obturation of the dental canal.
